There’s not much more to say besides what is in the description above. I thought the film was pretty good, but I was a bit disappointed in the participants. It seems that they were awfully unprepared (both physically and mentally) and quite whiny. Their self-centered attitudes somewhat detracted from the spirit of the mission throughout the film. Nevertheless, it all comes together in the end and their mission is a great success. Seeing the 4×4 vehicles delivered among countless wide-eyed children will put a smile on your face.

In this new series, Charley decides to to travel from Ireland to Sydney Australia – by any means possible. Rather than take a commercial airline, Charley decides to journey across the world using methods of transportation appropriate to the current vicinity – traveling by commercial airline is a much avoided last resort. Over the course of the series, Charley (accompanied by Russ Malkin and camerman “Mungo”) travels by various forms of transport, included a Willies Jeep, an elephant, a wakeboard, and a powered rickshaw. The diversity of cultures along the way is amazing and the scenery is even better. This sitcom recently aired on CBS and is on hiatus due to the writer’s strike (more on that in a different post…). Originally picked up for 22 episodes, eight were aired before running out of completed material. Hopefully the other 14 shows will be aired when the strike is resolved.

Premise: Sheldon and Leonard are two physics doctorates currently performing research at their local university. Their old transvestit neighbors calls it quits and leaves their building. As they returning from work, they are surprised to find that their new neighbor is a drastic an improvement: a very cute and bubbly blonde Cheesecake Factory waitress from Omaha, who is certainly down a few pegs on the intellectual scale that Sheldon and Leonard observe.

Leonard quickly falls for Penny, but typical of science dorks, Leonard is too shy to reveal his feelings for Penny. Penny, recently broken up with her jock boyfriend is ready for new beginnings and a less lust-filled relationship with different kind of man. Penny, also shy and apprehensive towards Leonard, is reluctant to reveal feelings she has for Leonard and this sets up the awkward interactions and situations that the two endure for the duration of the series.

Joining Leonard and Sheldon are their eccentric fellow science nerds, Wolowitz (the romantic) and Koothrappali (the “foreign guy). Together they form your typical video-game-playing, trivia-wielding, over-analyzing nerd quartet.

Hilarity ensues as this genetic bouillabaisse of characters strive to learn more about every-day life.

My Take: How do I join? I’d fit right in with these guys! This series is one of the funniest shows to ever come from the likes of CBS. The humor is witty, well-planned, and original. The actors play their characters brilliantly, and are very believable. The show is devoid of compromise and each episode builds on the tension and comedy of the previous.

I was surprised to see some of the cast members from Rosanne reunited in this show. They work quite well together and play totally different characters than what they portrayed on Rosanne.

And let’s be honest here, Kaley Cuoco (Penny, previously on Charmed and 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teen Age Daughter) is pretty damn cute:

When I Can I See It? Like I said before, the writer’s strike has dealt prime-time TV a major blow. Originally, “The Big Bang Theory” was picked up for 22 episodes, including the pilot.
